Welcome to The Homestead at Waimapu Mill Station — a peaceful rural hosting space set within our working beef farm, native bush, and rolling hill country. Designed for gathering, celebrating and reconnecting, this is a welcoming hosting space that brings people together.

Perfect for family holidays, wedding parties, retreats and group stays.

Wake up to the birds, watch the cows grazing across the paddocks, celebrate with good food, and end the day with sunsets on the deck with a drink in hand.

The space
The Space:

The Homestead sleeps up to 12 guests comfortably, with generous indoor and outdoor areas that make hosting effortless.

Inside, you’ll find:

A light-filled lounge overlooking the valley

A fully equipped kitchen ideal for cooking and catering

Dining tables for shared meals and gatherings

Bedrooms with soft linens and peaceful rural outlooks

There is plenty of space for bridal prep, group stays and long, slow mornings together.

Please note there are 2 sets of stairs which makes the space difficult for wheelchair or users needing accessible areas.

The Homestead pairs beautifully with The Woolshed at Waimapu Mill Station (our on-site event venue), making it an ideal stay for wedding parties or group hosting.

Farm & Nature Experience:

You’ll be staying on our working beef farm, where life moves at a slower pace.

Guests often enjoy:

Horse treks through the farm and native bush

Walking the DOC track to Otanewainuku just up the road.

Quiet mornings with coffee and birdsong

You’re close to town — but it truly feels like a world away.

Located in the peaceful Waimapu / Oropi valley area:

15 minutes to Tauranga.

You will have exclusive use of The Homestead during your stay.
We are based on the property (out of sight) if needed — otherwise, we leave you to enjoy your time and privacy.

Other things to note
Horse trekking and farm tours including a trip to our private waterfall are available for an additional cost. Check out Waimapu Mill Station online.

We do have a $300 cleaning and laundry fee that covers our lovely local cleaning lady and the off-site cleaning of our laundry.

This property is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, there are 2 sets of stairs and the bathrooms are not accessible friendly.
