I had the great pleasure of staying at Merced Manor for 2 months, while I was in town performing with Jersey Boys. I had the pleasure of staying at this magnificent place for 11 weeks! I have been touring for 9 years and in that time I have never found a greater place. I needed to commute downtown to the Orpheum Theater daily and I did that with ease. This is more than a 5-star rental! Go if you dare to experience true luxury in San Francisco! The apartment is your home away from home, it's all yours for the duration of your stay. A large patio in the back is yours with lounge chairs for a nap in the afternoon, table and chairs for your morning breakfast, a BBQ grill & a fountain for relaxation (free lemons from the tree). We're always available to help by PHONE, SMS, EMAIL or just a KNOCK on our door, will get us in person. Merced Manor is relaxing and comfortable with great transport links just minutes from downtown. It's extremely well located—get to Stonestown Galleria or the beach within five minutes or explore the local area rich with eateries and great shopping. Public transportation is straightforward: the No. 23 bus goes east/west along Sloat Boulevard (the neighborhood’s northern limit), and the No. 28 travels north and south along 19th Avenue. The “M” streetcar is an option for downtown commuters, traveling along 19th Avenue (there’s a stop at Stonestown Mall) before veering northeast through the West Portal tunnel to Civic Center, Union Square (25 minutes) and the Financial District in about half an hour. In addition, if you want to use your own car during the day, when you return at night, you do not have to contend with San Francisco's legendary parking problems. Not only is there abundant street parking in front of the house, a rarity for San Francisco, there are no meters or parking permit requirements that would otherwise force you to move your car. Regarding late check-out: We may accommodate you with late check-out if you mention it during the booking process, many times we have other guests waiting to check-in (same day). We need to know in advance.

Beautiful and Private Modern Cottage Close to Silicon Valley

Brew French press coffee in the kitchenette and drink it in the dappled light of a quiet backyard patio. It's charming and airy inside this modern cottage. A bright sleeping loft overlooks a cozy living room, where a sofa and shag rug are arranged in front of a fireplace. This stand-alone structure offers privacy and serenity. Its stylish decor boasts clean lines and a colorful vibe. For extra guests, the sofa pulls out to a queen-sized bed. This is 750 square feet of newly renovated, high-ceilinged and airy space, including a living area, spa-like bathroom, electric fireplace, kitchenette, eating area, outdoor patio and spacious sleeping loft that overlooks the area below. There is a queen-sized pull-out couch in the living room, in addition to the queen bed in the loft, which is upstairs and includes a dressing area. New furnishings throughout. Guests can access the cottage through a separate entrance on the property, behind the main house. There will be a host in the area or in the main house to help you should anything arise during your stay. My two children sometimes play in the yard or basketball in the drive. There's a sweet and gentle dog, Penny, who lives on the premises - she might say hello and then leave you alone. The cottage is in the Mt. Carmel neighborhood, a peaceful setting in the flatlands of Redwood City. There are tree-lined streets, flowers, and friendly neighbors—perfect for walking, running, and biking. It's a half mile to bustling downtown Redwood City, walking distance to the nearest Caltrain stop and five miles to Palo Alto and other Silicon Valley companies. Easy access to Hwy 101 and 280, Stanford, San Francisco, and much of the Silicon Valley peninsula. The Caltrain is a 1/2 mile walk (or a few minutes drive) which takes you to San Francisco in as little as 35 minutes and San Jose in 30. We are 2 Caltrain stops from Palo Alto, 5 from Mountain View. Walk, bike or drive to downtown Redwood City, just .6 miles away. 30 minute drive to the top of Skyline Drive to get away from it all for a run, hike or drive through the wooded hills overlooking the Valley and the Pacific Ocean. Access the entire Bay Area from this central location - use it as a home base for day trips to Napa Valley, Sonoma, Monterey and Carmel. Kitchenette has an electronic coffee maker, french press, small convection oven/microwave, two burners, tea pot, sink and a mini-fridge. There is a European style clothes washer/dryer combo unit for small loads -- clothes may need to be hung/aired for a short time on a drying rack (provided) to become fully dry.
