We'll adapt your day according to wildlife sightings, weather conditions, and traffic flow for better enjoyment. First you’ll buckle up—we’ll pick you up in a UTV and start the adventure well before you canyoneer through the canyons. Then you’ll buckle in—once we arrive on the east side of Zion, you’ll learn how to safely rappel these secret slots with a licensed team of guides there to hold your rope (and your hand). With private access to the slots, you’ll get to hike, canyoneer, and rappel the world in between. Bring your camera so you can capture all your Indiana Jones-style adventure. Come and spend a day at a farm and make art! We are a woman owned organic farm located near the Sandy River. We have converted a century old dairy barn into a ceramic studio. For an additional cost of $25 per person I will fire your projects in my kiln and you can choose a glaze color for your finished pieces. We’ll introduce you to the process and materials that comprise fragrance creation. We'll spend about half the workshop smelling our way through a selection of over 45 raw ingredients, while discussing fragrance and blending techniques. You'll spend the remainder of the workshop developing and blending your own fragrance, with tips and pointers along the way. After this, you'll turn your fragrance into a 10mL oil-based roll-on personal fragrance. You’ll take home your very own scent creation compounded and mixed into a 10mL roll-on bottle of perfume. Other things to note: Avoid wearing strong fragrances to this workshop as it may disrupt yours' and others' olfactory experience.

We will teach you how to milk a cow. *At the beginning we allow you time to spend with the animals. Petting, brushing, or just hanging out with them. *Next we take you through what we feed our animals and how we care for them. We can talk about what goes into the cleanliness of the process and getting everything ready. *We will then go through the experience of milking the cow (whether by hand or with the machine, you decide). Allowing you to do as much of the work as you feel comfortable with. *Afterwards we will strain the milk and get it cooled and clean up. *Before you leave we will give you the opportunity to taste any of the products from our farm with the option to purchase milk at a 50% discount. *Congrats! You will have milked a cow!

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We'll begin with an in-depth tour of our Past Worlds gallery and end with a behind-the-scenes visit inside our Paleo Lab. In the gallery, we will talk about dinosaurs found in Utah (some known exclusively from our own collections) and explore the ecosystems and adaptations that make these animals so fascinating. Inside the Paleo Lab, we will get a sneak peek at the projects that our paleontology volunteers are working on and learn about the techniques used to prepare our most recent discoveries. The tour is for adults and teens 13 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum number of participants is 10. Admission is complementary with purchase of the experience. Admission fees cannot be deducted from the package price. Tour length is approximately 2 hours or so, depending on group discussions. Face masks are optional and not required.

A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

We begin our class with a brief Q&A from participants, to gauge their knowledge and skill sets (this is completely voluntary and you may choose to simply observe). After we get a feel for the class, we will go over the in-home steps that are necessary to protect you and your loved ones from any intrusions; including (but not limited to) perimeter surveillance and breach prevention, barricading entry points, and post-breach measures. Next we move on to food and water storage. In the event that you are unable to leave your home for long periods; you must have the right nutrition, stored properly, that has a long shelf life. Water collection and purification will also be an important topic of discussion. After we’ve learned how to “bug-in” we will then make our way outside for a “bug-out”. This includes what to do in the event that you are forced to leave the protection of your home, how to find food and fresh water sources, where to find/create suitable shelter, and how to survive the harshest environments. First off we'll gather in the parking lot at Dave Moore's nature area equipped with handicapped porta potty and trail map. after introduction I will point out a few of the things surrounding the parking area I will describe the surroundings and what nature brings in the immediate location after that we will start our lovely stroll on a packed sand gravel walkway equipped for handicapped and challenged. It is a 1-mile loop to the river and back to the parking lot. We will collect are ring for the base of a dreamcatcher I will share its properties along our trial trail I will also point out a few of nature's edibles and medicinals. I will describe and explain what's sinue is which I will have a synthetic sinue which will be the web of our dreamcatcher. We can collect trinkets along the way like stones and feathers for the fringe. At the river we will assemble our dream catcher and adfix the remaining favors. In addition to I will be giving some mug Wort other known as the dream herb to attach to our lovely dream catcher. Other things to note During some seasons there may be rattlesnakes on the trail so be wary where you step. The river fluctuates with the releasing of the damn water to accommodate the rafters. Water levels fluctuate frequently on a daily basis and quite sudden.

Assemble a medicine bag. All items completely provided and explanations of the herbs and identification along the way. We will have dream herb called mugwort. Apache tear crystal. Your choice. Of stones. And of material for bag. We can use a bench if need to be off the ground. Which is not next to river there are two rest areas along the way. Light terrain.

We'll meet at New Day Bakery in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene to get acquainted and grab a quick snack. Then we will drive about half an hour south, to a covered bridge filled valley, adorned with Victorian-style homes & beautiful waterways! We'll visit and take pictures of a handful of covered bridges. From there we'll peruse through the hillside to a couple of breathtaking wineries perched atop vineyard covered hills! After some tastings and delicious bites we'll be on our way back to Eugene. *** NOTES *** I will not be drinking so I will also act as the designated driver.
