Named in honor of William Penn’s historic landing in Philadelphia in 1682, Penn’s Landing hosts events, classes, attractions and entertainment all year long. Perhaps most notably, this area is home to seasonal parks including Spruce Street Harbor Park and Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest, as well as tons of happenings at the Great Plaza. The area spans Front Street to the Delaware River from Spring Garden Street to Washington Avenue. In the summer, Spruce Street Harbor Park draws thousands of residents and visitors with features like a beer garden, restaurants and food stands, floating lily pad lounges, colorful hammocks and carnival-style games.
