Find yourself amongst the tree tops of Waipū Cove. Enjoy soaking up the hours that stretch into days here, in a space designed to bring you closer to the Northland nature. Forest, beach, sun, cicadas. Unmissable reconnection.
The space
Treetops is a small open flow studio with everything you need to simply enjoy and connect with the natural world. In particular, the stunning native forest and outlook over the ocean in Bream Bay, and with close proximity to the surf beach four minutes drive down the road. It is also directly on the Te Araroa trail, with beautiful walks and waterfalls close by.
For our guests at Treetops, we've organised the booking calendar to ensure that when you stay, you will have the property all to yourself.
Guest access
The deck areas in front and to the side of Treetops are there for you to use, lounge in the sun, cool off in the shade, sit and enjoy a good book, or have a cold cold plunge in the outdoor shower!
As we won't be here when you stay, feel free to also enjoy our personal rock garden that is at the bottom of the big staircase – it captures the late afternoon sun perfectly.
There is also a steep set of stairs that takes you into the bush – if you venture down, watch your step as it is pretty untouched. And we ask that you please clean your footwear beforehand to protect our kauri trees from kauri dieback disease. Google kauriprotection in nz for more info on this.
Other things to note
Treetops is intended to be a retreat for up to two adult guests, bringing you as close as to living and being immersed in the forest as possible – without losing any of life's simple luxuries. We've designed this space to hold nature as its centrepiece, so you won't find a TV or black-out curtains here!
Instead we encourage guests take the opportunity to unplug and reconnect. Enjoy re-finding your circadian rhythms, but don't go to bed too soon or you'll miss the incredible array of stars and chorus of ruru owls that live on the property.
