Welcome to The Gables, a private little cabin tucked away on our hilltop property in North Canterbury. Enjoy incredible views across the Canterbury Plains to Banks Peninsula, cosy nights by the fire and the Christchurch lights in the distance. With everything you need for a comfortable stay, it’s the perfect spot for a quiet weekend away or romantic escape. Just 35 minutes from Christchurch, but with the peace and space of the country. ✨
The space
Step inside The Gables and you'll find a cosy, comfortable space with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
There's a king-size bed with beautiful linen, a cosy living area with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The big windows make the most of the views, and the private deck is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or a drink in the evening.
We've tried to make The Gables feel like somewhere you'd genuinely love to stay - comfortable, easy and a little bit special.
The Gables sits on our lifestyle property in North Canterbury, surrounded by farmland and incredible views across the Canterbury Plains towards Banks Peninsula.
It's peaceful and private, with plenty of space to enjoy the view. In the evenings, you can watch the sunset over the plains before the Christchurch lights start to appear in the distance. You'll also see our sheep and cattle around the property, so don't be surprised if you get a few curious visitors during your stay!
The Gables is a great place to escape for a couple of nights, whether you're planning a romantic getaway, exploring North Canterbury or simply want some time away from the usual routine. There are plenty of walks, local spots and outdoor adventures nearby, or you can stay put, light the fire and enjoy the view.
Christchurch is around 35 minutes away and Christchurch Airport about 30 minutes, so you're close enough to head into the city but far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet.
A Little Slice of Paradise
We love the view from The Gables, and we hope you do too. It's a quiet little spot to slow down, enjoy each other's company and make the most of a few days away. Come for the view, stay for the cosy cabin. ✨

The Gables has its own private entrance and sits separately from the main house, giving you your own space and plenty of privacy during your stay.
Check-in is easy with a simple self check-in, so you can arrive whenever suits and settle in at your own pace. Walk in, unpack, put the kettle on and make yourself at home. Your time at The Gables starts the moment you arrive. ✨
Other things to note
Parking is easy and stress-free, with plenty of spacious off-street parking available right on the property. Whether you’re arriving with multiple vehicles, outdoor gear, or just ready to unwind, you’ll have room to park comfortably and head straight inside to relax and enjoy your stay.
Due to the summer weather we have had, some minor landscaping is yet to be completed. This will be finished in between guests.
