Kick back by the fireplace, enjoy local walks nearby, or head just one hour to Mt Hutt Ski Field. Settle into this calm, private setting which is the perfect spot for a couples’ reset or a family getaway, sleeping up to ten.

The space
Located just 45 minutes from Christchurch Airport at the foothills of the Southern Alps, The Cosy Countryside Cottage offers a peaceful escape from city life and a convenient base for skiing at Mt Hutt.

This relocated cottage is thoughtfully and privately positioned at the back of Te Waiora, a quiet Christian retreat centre. Simply drive down the driveway at the property until you reach the secluded cottage.

Inside, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms, a large lounge with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and comfortable fold-out Ecosa sofas. The Cosy Countryside Cottage can host groups of up to ten people.

The first bedroom features a queen bed and a single fold-out sofa, while the second bedroom has a queen and king-single bed.

The bathroom has a shower, bath, and toilet. Another separate toilet is located off the side of the laundry.

The lounge is warm and inviting, with soft lighting, both queen and double fold-out sofas, a TV, and reliable Starlink Wi-Fi. This makes it the perfect space for relaxing after a day on the slopes or simply enjoying a quiet evening in.

The cottage also has an external campervan/caravan power outlet, allowing you to park up your motorhome and plug in too.

There's some great activities in the area like the popular Washpen Falls walk, Rakaia Gorge, the Hororata Cafe, golf courses and, of course, Mt Hutt.

Whether you’re looking to slow down and reconnect with nature or use it as a Mt Hutt ski base, The Cosy Countryside Cottage combines comfort, privacy, and countryside charm in a quiet, restful setting.

The Cosy Countryside Cottage is located at the back end of Te Waiora House, a peaceful Christian retreat centre. The driveway is shared access but you'll have plenty of room to park your vehicles outside the front of the cottage.
