The Institute of Awesome is an eco-lodge overlooking the coast in 110 acres of bush on the foot of Karioi.

Grab two bedrooms at the lodge. One for the adults (King bed or can be 2 singles), one for the kids (4 single beds) in the next room. Peace and quiet. 🛌💤

All the other facilities are shared at the lodge, clean hot showers, cooking facilities, huge fridges in the camp kitchen.

We are not 5 star but the lodge is relaxed, rustic with a tonne of character, serenity and plenty of nature.

The space
A historic lodge in 110 acres of protected native bush. The lodge doubles as an outdoor and enviro-tech education camp.

The rooms are all comfortable with good linen and towels.

They are heated in the winter, and enjoy sunshine all year around.

Guest access
You will have full shared access to the entire lodge and its facilities.
Relax in the sauna, enjoy a private bush walk, chill in the lounge or cook up a storm in one of our kitchens.
There are private toilet and shower rooms available and bathroom and shower blocks near the rooms.
There are nooks and spaces all over the property to chillax, with BBQs and picnic tables to share your stories and adventures around.

Other things to note
The rooms can be set up as a King bed with a bunk or two Twin beds and a bunk. Let us know which one you would prefer.

As we are a camp most of the year, all of our facilities are shared - this includes the showers and toilets. There are private bathrooms to use but they are not located in your room and they are a shared facility.
