Beautiful area
Guests love this home’s scenic location.
With the best ocean views, perched just above the crashing surf, you'll be captivated! Waihaha, meaning 'place of noisy waters', perfectly describes this magical spot, especially during big stormy seas.
Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck & watch amazing sunsets.
The pancake rocks at Punakaiki and the iconic Truman Track are just a 15-minute drive south.
The space
This is the perfect location to soak up the atmosphere of the wild and beautiful West Coast. Ideal for watching the spectacle of big waves crashing at your feet - all from the comfort of a warm cosy bach.
FREE WIFI & Netflix. Enjoy unlimited free wifi, Netflix and TV streaming.
HELP SAVE THE PENGUINS - A portion of every booking from our six West Coast baches is donated to the West Coast Penguin Trust. $15,231.00 has been donated so far (as of September 2026). The penguins thank you!
Guest access
You'll have the whole house to yourself... and most days you'll have the entire beach to yourself as well!
Self-check-in from 4pm, check-out is 11am (earlier check-in is sometimes available)
*Waihaha Bach is not fenced from either the road or the ocean so small children would need constant supervision when outside.
**There is 4G mobile coverage at Waihaha Bach
Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE: The nearest places to buy food and petrol are Westport (30 mins north) or Greymouth (45 mins south) so make sure you stock up on supplies & petrol before you depart for Waihaha Bach. Pantry basics, tea, coffee, oil, salt pepper & sugar are provided.
WATER SUPPLY: this is from a local stream and is filtered but otherwise not treated in any way - we always drink straight from the tap but you may wish to bring bottled water for drinking.
Sandlflies: these are plentiful all along the West Coast - insect screens are provided on the windows for your comfort. You may wish to bring some insect repellent.

My work: Property Manager
Kia ora, I’m Daniel - I live in Auckland and am a commercial property manager for Auckland City, a job I love - but my real passion is our beach baches.
It's a pleasure to share these special places with guests from NZ and all corners of the world. For a true Kiwi experience, be sure to check out all six of our West Coast baches. If you're passing through Auckland, stay with us in Pt Chev... See all my listings via my profile page - Everyone is welcome!
