Welcome. You're here because there's a stirring within you, calling you into a place of finding yourself.
You're a daughter, a friend, a wife, a mother, a coworker, but the space to find "you," for you, has been hard to come by.
Sanctuary Within is that place. The container that holds you as you come into presence within yourself. A place to dance, sing, cry, dream, to be inspired and to heal.
Solo stays, for one woman at a time. A chance to fall in love with yourself. A chance to simply be.
The space
As you will see from the photos, the Sanctuary is a one person stay. There is a small kitchenette available which has a hob as well as a fridge, toaster, jug, pots and pans and basic utensils, so simple, easy meals are recommended. We are 10 minutes out of Greytown and 15 minutes to Martinborough, so you are close enough to pick up dinner or dine out. There is a heater in the room, which makes it nice and toasty on those colder nights.
Guest access
The Sanctuary is yours for the duration of your stay. Because it's a space we care for deeply, we like to meet each woman briefly on her first stay, so we can welcome you personally and show you around. Once we've met you, you're free to book and enjoy the space as often as you like, without us checking you in.
Every Sanctuary Within house is set up with things for you to use during your stay.
A manicure set and nail files.
Journals you are invited to take with you.
Crafting supplies for vision boards.
Herbal teas, a small mindfulness ritual.
An exercise mat with information on somatic exercises.
This is not a standard hotel / motel stay. Sanctuary Within gives you tools for exploration and invitations for self care, set up around one purpose: helping you come back to yourself.
Checkout is different too. A standard hotel / motel usually has a 10am checkout and a 3pm check in, leaving a long gap in between for cleaning and reset.
At Sanctuary Within, checkout is at 12pm and check in is at 2pm.
Other things to note
Please bring your own linen and towels - this includes a sheet set for a queen bed (fitted and flat sheet and pillowcases), tea towel, hand towel, bath mat and body towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided.
Making sure our offering is sustainable matters to us. One of the key things we draw on for that is a woman's consideration of others and her propensity for reciprocity. Every woman who comes here is asked to be self-led and community minded, holding high integrity when it comes to cleanliness and consideration of others. We are looking for women who see these Sanctuaries as hers, who care for it well and prepare the space for the woman coming after her.
