Enjoy relaxing on the sunny deck overlooking private semi-rural back garden and fields. The spacious studio has a good-sized open plan living/dining area, fully equipped kitchenette, and comfortable bedroom area. Classic Waiheke outdoor bathroom (with brand new fittings) in peaceful garden. Brand new android smart tv and nespresso.
Wander 5 minutes along the road to the start of the path to Little Palm Beach, the most picturesque beach on the island! House is 4 minute (350m) walk to bus stop.
The space
The studio is a large 30msq space with a bedroom area plus an open plan living dining kitchen area. Breakfast bar with 2 bar stools. Brand new sofa bed in lounge. Bed has double USB charging ports (bring your cables). Desk and chair available. Tea and coffee making facilities. Recently painted, with new curtains and full size fridge/freezer.
Please note, the bathroom is reminiscent of an earlier Waiheke era and is external to the cottage. It’s accessed via a wide garden path, approx 8 metres from the cottage to the bathroom (the walk is not undercover). There are two steps up from the path to the bathroom also (the access everywhere else is completely flat, no steps). The bathroom fittings, shower etc are brand new (in 2023) and the shower is mains pressure - unusual for the island!
Guest access
The garden studio is at the back of a holiday home where the owners stay some weekends and holidays (not available for rent). The studio outdoor area/deck is private and away from the main house. The studio is fully self contained and has its own parking available in front of the studio.
Other things to note
The self contained full and brand new bathroom is accessed externally (just outside in the garden - about 8 meters from the cottage). The kitchenette has a microwave, large fridge freezer and 2 burner hotplate but no oven. There is a queen bed plus a king single sofa bed.
All linens for the cottage are provided including single bed sheets for 3 person bookings. If you make a 2 person booking and require the sofa bed, linens are provided at a $30 surcharge. Bath towels are not to be used at the beach. If you don’t have your own beach towels we are happy to add these to the booking for $10 per beach towel.
Bookings of 1 night only may incur an additional surcharge.

While the address is technically in Oneroa, the cottage is essentially in the Palm Beach area, which has two beautiful beaches side by side. These are the best beaches on the island (in our opinion!) and many locals come here to swim to enjoy the deep cove of little palm and the sheltered, wider bay of palm beach.
One of the highlights of this cottage is the location, being in walking distance to both beaches and a 10-15 min walk to little palm beach. The walk is lovely, only a short stretch along a quiet road, and then down a nature track with incredible views and a lookout to the beach.
This is the sunny north side of the island and enjoys better more consistent weather than other areas of the island. The road is not a main route and is a quiet, peaceful area of waiheke island.
That said, it is a very short drive (or longer walk) to the bustling shopping and dining centre of Oneroa, to the Ostend hub where you will find the main supermarket and the quaint local market on Saturday mornings, and to many local vineyards and restaurants. It is a very central location and most places are 5 or 10 mins by car.
And in walking distance to the cottage is a great casual local restaurant, Arcadia, as well as the palm beach store which sells excellent coffees, ice cream cones, fresh pastries and island renowned toasted cheese sandwiches for breakfast and lunch (as well as all your basic supplies). There is also a wine shop in palm beach.
In the middle of palm beach is a great childrens playground with a nautical theme, along with a local hall that hoss yoga and dance classes, and a small art gallery, The Red Shed.
There are many trails and walks that you can access in the area, including down to the snorkelling haven at Enclosure Bay which is also an excellent and safe beach for children.
The bus service is very good and the local bus stop is only 350m/4 min walk away, and goes all over the island. If you are too tired to walk back up the hill to the cottage, the buses go regularly from outside the palm beach store, Arcadia restaurant and the playground.
A little further walk or 2 min drive away is Little Oneroa beach which has a large childrens playground, beachside reserve, fish and chip shop, and Drafonfired wood fired pizzas and pocketbreads, which makes for a lovely lunch or dinner picnic on the beach.
