Our spacious holiday cottage invites relaxation. Eat al fresco in the front covered patio. Watch the sun go down with a drink on the back deck. Wander 5 minutes along the road to the start of the path to Little Palm Beach and panoramic ocean views. Watch the horses in the fields as you cook in the large, well equipped kitchen. Read a book, play a board game or work on a puzzle in the separate dining area. Watch netflix on the large smart TV. Stay cool (or warm) with the A/C and heat pump. Relax.
The space
The house is a lovely, comfortable holiday home with everything you could think of for a holiday. It is spacious for a one bedroom (65msq) and has a wonderful open plan layout with outdoor living areas at both front and back of the house. It is in a very quiet area, and is very peaceful. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and has a wonderfully large breakfast bar with 3 comfortable stools for dining. There is also a separate dining area and table with 6 chairs. A 3 seater couch which converts to a plush futon sofabed is in the living area, and the TV can be viewed from the living room or the dining room.
The King bedroom has a very comfortable bed, clothes storage and shelves, and a fan for comfort. There is also a heat pump/AC in the living area that cools the bedroom well, and insect screens all all windows so you can leave the windows open without worrying about mosquitos. There is excellent ventilation utilising natural breezes, meaning the house doesn’t get too hot.
The front patio has comfortable outdoor furniture including a chaise lounge, and is covered and protected from wet weather. The upgraded bathroom has mains water pressure (not common on Waiheke!) so you can enjoy a decent shower. There is also a lovely big back garden with a trampoline that you are welcome to use. Off street parking is available.
The location is excellent, a 15 min walk down to Little Palm Beach (and another 5 mins around to Palm Beach), and only a 4 minute walk (350m) to the 502 bus stop where you can easily travel by bus to the ferry, Ostend, Onetangi, Oneroa etc. using Apple Pay or a credit card to pay for the buses.
Guest access
This house is at the front of the property, and there is also a separate self contained studio cottage at the back of the property which is also rented at times. The front house is private and the outdoor front porch faces away from the back studio cottage. There is also a lovely big back garden with a trampoline that you are welcome to use. There is a lockbox and self check in.
Other things to note
This is our family holiday home where we sometimes stay. There is a second locked (kids) bedroom that isn’t available for guests. There may be a few personal items in the house also.
All linens for the house are provided including sheets for the sofa bed for 3 person bookings. If you make a 2 person booking and require the sofa bed, linens are provided at a $25 surcharge. Bath towels are not to be used at the beach. If you don’t have your own beach towels we are happy to add these to the booking for $10 per beach towel.
