The cabin is hidden away on a hill country Merino sheep farm, the cabin design allows you to reconnect with nature and experience New Zealand farm life first hand.
The cabins location is to offer you beautiful views of our farmland and the Southern Alps.
Relax next to the fireplace, enjoy the night sky and explore the farm trails.
Only 60 Minutes north of Christchurch, Also 60 mins from International Airport. On Highway 7 north to Hanmer Springs.

The space
We have been the guardians of this property "Hurunui Hills" since 1884, Scotty is the 5th generation on the land. We have 3500+ Merino sheep and around 100 Angus Cattle.
The farming operating is run by his parents (Terry and Maria) and this brother (Marc). Feel free to say "Giday" if you see them! Scotty operates day tours and also helps on the land.
We also offer farm experiences (Farm tours) for independent guests and large groups.
Cabin: Our cabin is completely off grid. The power is generated with solar. So please be mindful of usage on cloudy days.
The internal space features a kitchenette with gas cook top.
A refrigerator, cooking utensils, electric kettle and one kettle for the fireplace.
Roaring Meg fireplace to keep you warm.
Outside: Large decking to soak up the sun, picnic table and Weber BBQ for outside cooking.
Bathroom: Flushing chemical toilet, shower, mirror and basin.
Walks: You are welcome to walk the farm tracks and maps will be provided in the cabin information for hill top view walks.
A Merino farm experience (Farm tour) can be arranged also. Subject to availability

Please follow the signs to the cabin.
Access is via a gravel farm track, distance to the cabin is 860 metres from entrance to the farm.
All wheel drive vehicles recommended but 2WD is fine. Speed limit 15km/h.
Watch for animals/ large stones on the track
Please leave gates how you found them.

The couch can fold out. This is ideal for an extra adult or kid(s) extra charge applies/requested at booking. Please message me and I can arrange this for you
4G mobile coverage on site
